Because of the many inherent process variables, as well as, the uniqueness of your particular production conditions, selecting the proper screening equipment for the application requires prudent evaluation. Over the years, SMICO has conducted hundreds of tests and substantiated the results on most types of materials in all kinds of production conditions. We have invested our efforts for a multitude of clients, as well as, potential prospects. More than likely, we have screen test data already available. However, when tests are needed, our Screen Testing Lab stands ready.

FREE Advice vs. Sound Advice

Free advice is everywhere these days. But free advice can be very costly if it isn't also good advice. Why run the risk?

A Lab Test is a transaction between your company and SMICO. These tests are serious undertakings. What can you expect from us? You will find that we conduct ourselves safely, ethically, and professionally. We believe there are no off-the-shelf answers. This engagement with your process will provide you with a fresh look at improvement. Our expertise built this company and has served the processing industries since 1903. That's one reason SMICO believes in testing. Our aim is to be a meaningful resource. If we find that any of the parameters within your desired screening process cannot be met, you will know. We will not just plug your process into our machinery to make a sale. In fact, it's just the opposite. Equipping you with the answers to freely make your equipment choices is our business and our clients find that valuable.

Material Sample Test Authorization Procedure

In our Materials Testing Lab, we will be determining the appropriate equipment to do the job. Prior to the physical test, we engineer our predictions. With your desired outcome known, we conduct the analysis of your materials under simulated production conditions. Using our historical testing and material characteristics data, we put the test in motion to verify the outcomes that we have predicted. We will be evaluating the machine type and size needed, the machine settings, and the optimum screening media.

To help us comply with federal, state, local and company health and safety regulations that will ensure the safety of our employees, as well as, the employees of the transportation companies, we ask you to follow these procedures:

Please use the provided SAMPLE TEST REQUEST FORM. This form notifies and directs us of your intentions. Please complete the form and return it to SMICO with the applicable Material Safety Data Sheets prior to shipping your material.
Please refer to the Material Bulk Density Reference Chart
We will notify you that we have received your request and authorize you to send the materials to our lab. Do not send material until authorized.
We require two to three cubic feet (57 to 85 dm) of material, but this volume may vary depending on bulk density. Please use plastic five gallon buckets. Do not send metal drums, boxes or any other type containers. Please ship sample freight prepaid to SMICO.
Please attach the Material Safety Data Sheet to the outside of all containers along with your shipping label.
PLEASE NOTE: We will not accept shipments that deviate from any of these procedures.
We will return all material to the address you provide on the SAMPLE REQUEST FORM unless other arrangements have been made. We will return the sample freight collect.

SMICO Manufacturing Company, Inc. makes these statements exclusively under normal screening definitions, where uniform and steady state screening conditions exist. SMICO and its equipment have no control over the nature of the "in-feed" rate and make no further performance guarantees outside the test parameters provided and defined by the customer. SMICO Manufacturing Company, Inc. reserves this right to limit these statements.
